Working Principle:

The working principle of titanium-based ruthenium-iridium electrode mesh buckets for electrolysis is primarily based on electrochemical reactions. During the electrolytic process, an external direct current (DC) is passed through an electrolyte solution, causing oxidation-reduction reactions to occur at the anode and cathode. The titanium-based ruthenium-iridium electrode, serving as the anode, plays a crucial role in this process.

  1. Anode Reaction: At the anode, oxidation reactions typically occur. For water or other oxygen-containing electrolytes, the anode reaction may involve the oxidation of water, generating oxygen (O2) and hydrogen ions (H+). The ruthenium-iridium coating provides excellent electrical conductivity and corrosion resistance, enabling these reactions to proceed efficiently.
  2. Cathode Reaction: Meanwhile, at the cathode, reduction reactions take place, such as the reduction of hydrogen ions to form hydrogen gas (H2).
  3. Role of Ruthenium-Iridium Alloy: The ruthenium-iridium alloy coating on the titanium substrate not only enhances electrical conductivity but also ensures long-term stable operation of the electrode in various chemical environments, including acidic, alkaline, and oxidative conditions.
