With the continuous development of smart phones, smart tablets, game consoles and other devices, people are gradually paying more and more attention to the battery life and charging safety of these terminal devices. However, the current battery technology obviously has not kept up with the rapid development, so many mobile phone manufacturers now shorten the charging time by increasing the charging power of the mobile phone, and achieve the purpose of extending the battery life in another way.
But will the higher the charging power cause danger when charging? Will the plug temperature be too high during charging will cause a fire? As charging power is getting higher and higher, safety issues should also be taken seriously. We launched a safe charging cable data cable with an intelligent temperature control protection device at the USB-C connector. During the charging process, when the plug temperature is high, the output will be automatically cut off without the intervention of chargers and terminal equipment. When the Type C plug temperature drops, it will resume charging.

1. Appearance of the cableThe cable type is USB-A to USB-C charging cable. The color is white all over, with a fixed transparent ring in the middle to prevent it from being scattered.
The thread body is made of TPE material with excellent craftsmanship.
For the interface specifications of the wire, you can also see the data transmission logo on the USB-A terminal head. The wire supports data transmission in addition to charging.

4, Temperature power-off testThe USB-C connector end of this fast charging cable comes with a smart temperature control protection chip. If the cable encounters a malfunction when charging the mobile phone, it can intelligently cut off the charging current when the temperature is too high, and the charger stops charging the mobile phone. Prevent danger from occurring at the root cause. Compared with the traditional way of using PTC thermistor, directly cutting off the charging current can further ensure the safety of the mobile phone. Let's actually test it below.
Connect the test meter to the computer so that you can easily see the working status of the voltage and current during charging. Connect the two ends of the test meter to the load and the A to C fast charging line, and test with the current of 3A and 5A. Put the USB-C connector part of the wire in a small airtight box, and then perform a heating operation to see the performance of the wire.
Use our A to C fast charging cable to participate in the test. At the beginning of the test, the current is passed through the wire with a magnitude of 3A, and the temperature inside the box is raised. When the temperature of the test meter continues to rise to 87.2°C, the current and voltage suddenly return 0, the test stops at this time.
This is because the temperature control probe inside the wire detects that the plug temperature is greater than or equal to the set protection temperature, and then the main control IC sends a command to the switch MOSFET to turn off the output. So as to avoid the potential safety hazards on the equipment side caused by the temperature rise again. Completely shut down the way to charge the mobile phone to achieve zero power output.
The wire can be turned off when the temperature is too high when transmitting a large current of 3A. The following is an actual measurement of whether it will be turned off when transmitting a current of 5A. Other test conditions remain unchanged. The transmission current of 3A is increased to 5A. During the test, it is found that when the temperature of the test meter continues to rise to 79.3°C, the current and voltage suddenly return to 0, and the test stops at this time.
The above test is aimed at increasing the temperature of the USB-C connector to test whether the intelligent temperature control protection chip inside the wire will work. In fact, there is another possibility that the temperature rises, that is, there is a short circuit in the USB-C connector of the wire. At this time, the main control IC will issue a command to the switch MOSFET to turn off the output, avoiding greater safety hazards.
Let's take a look at the A to C fast charging cables of other brand manufacturers. The test conditions are still the same, except that the tested wire is replaced with other A to C fast charging cables. During the test, the temperature inside the box continues to rise. When the temperature of the test meter has reached 96.8°C, the current and voltage can still be seen continuously output. For the safety of the test, the editor stopped the test at this time.
The temperature of the plug has reached 96.8°C! Continue to output power!5, Summarize:The USB-C fast charging cables on the market are mixed. Most users judge the quality of the cables only by whether they can be charged, and most importantly, safety issues that are invisible to the naked eye can easily be overlooked. Although the inferior USB-C fast charging cable can be charged, there is no internal safety protection measures. Even if there is, it is solved by using only PTC thermistors. But the working principle of PTC thermistor is to increase the impedance value after the temperature rises, and realize the low-voltage output.
